Summary:    Oversee, direct, and coordinate front of the house restaurant staff.  Assist the restaurant management team with operations and training.  Assist with resolution of guest concerns.

Job Duties:

Primary

  1. Ensures that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
  2. Assists in cash control and other receipts for the shift by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  3. Supervises and participates in dining area cleaning activities.
  4. Investigates complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations and reports to management.
  5. Observes workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service and provides assistance to the management team for completion of disciplinary write-ups.
  6. Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel.
  7. Performs some food preparation or service tasks such as packaging items, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.
  8. Attends all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
  9. Coordinates with and assists fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operations of the restaurant.
  10. Fills-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Supplemental

  1. Greet and seat guests, and present menus and wine lists.
  2. Take reservations
  3. Present bills and accept payments.

 

Required Technology Experience

  • Cash register
  • Tablets and computer
  • Point-of-sale software, terminals and workstations
  • Electronic mail software
  • Inventory management software

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the restaurant industry
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
  • Outgoing, pleasant personality, and a desire to please guests
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for at least 8 hours
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have reliable transportation
