Job Purpose: The general manager is responsible for managing daily operations of the restaurant, kitchen, events spaces and property, including the selection, development and performance of all employees. In addition, they oversee the inventory, and ordering of food, beverage and supplies, optimize profits and ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience.

- Oversees and manages all aspects of the restaurant departments and makes final decisions on matters of importance when necessary
- Adheres to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
- Responsible for ensuring that all financial and payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Monitor budgets and reports, analyzes budget variances and takes corrective action
- Analyze food, beverage and labor costs, communicate and hold managers accountable
- Determine staffing requirements, recruit and maintain staffing level as needed, train and coach staff
- Oversee all staff in front and back of house including support of hiring, disciplining, firing, onboarding, training and development of training programs for all departments
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets
- Establish and support standards for staff performance in all areas by communicating expectations, direction, follow-up and feedback and to resolve staff issues when needed
- Maintain health and safety practices by enforcing sanitary practices for food/beverage handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of all areas. Ensuring compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/ state/local laws and ordinances
- Maintain records per established standards and procedures including disciplinary actions, doctor’s notes, working papers, parental consent, accident reports, corrective coaching and all HR requirements
- Arrange for maintenance and repairs of all equipment and services. Maintains preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and services that require it
- Works with Chef and managers to maintain inventories of food and non-food items, liquor/wine, beverages, small wares, uniforms, office supplies, marketing tools, etc.
- Manage shifts supporting the schedule including daily decision making, scheduling, and planning while maintaining standards
- Investigates and tactfully resolves complaints regarding food quality and/or service concerns
- Works with chef and managers on developing food and bar menus including establishing profitable pricing that fits the current market. Communicates to all staff to increase knowledge and confidence in all products. Ensures POS is properly programmed to charge correct prices and that all menus to be presented to the guest are attractive, clean and correct.
- Works with marketing team in developing promotional activities to attract guests as well as ensuring that all public exposure such as websites and social media are always current and up to date.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed by all staff each shift including cash drawer count at the start of the shift and reconciling at the end of the shift, ensuring the final amount matches sales reports.
- Must have minimum 3 years previous experience in food and beverage management
- Must have knowledge and experience with managing inventory and cost control
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage and labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities
- Experience in restaurant/food service staff management
- Must be able to use relevant computer applications- Google Business - Doc, Sheets, etc., restaurant specific point of sale
- Must possess good communication skills
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Experience in Latin, Fine Dining and American Cuisine a plus
- Kitchen experience also a plus
